As DOP’s we are all after creative projects to work on.
The passion to push our skills within lighting, framing as well as collaborating with the director and talent to produce something to be really proud of is what drives us as Cinematographers.
I happened to stumble across this film via a re-tweet and was honestly blown away by the Cinematography style, direction, sound design and editing – all in all you could say I LIKED it! The fact that there is still a skater kid living inside me might have biased me ever so slightly…
Steve Berra (The Berrics) joins Mexican skaters Jesus Gonzalez, Eder Martinez, Mario Saenz, Angel Santiago and American Luis Tolentino for this Burn Ignite film, shot on location in Mexico City, directed by
Garth Davis and shot by DOP Greig Fraser.
Apparently this was shot on the Canon 5D MK II and yep all the fire was real… Nuts!
Greig makes fantastic use of the beautiful natural light and I love the mystique of the night skate footage with the skaters backs blazing alight…
There are some really cool tracking shot and the general hand held feel really helps keeps it alive, raw and fresh.
Overall a really cool BLAZING HOT piece of work! Great work guys!
